I am a wife and mom to an amazing little boy. When my husband and I got married, we immediately knew we wanted a family. We were high school sweethearts after all. We quickly realized that having a family was not going to be as easy as we thought. Fertility treatments were EXPENSIVE. So I started doing odd side hustles in addition to my 9-5. I was doing things like making candles and other odds & ends for extra money. My husband worked A LOT of overtime, and 5 long years later, in 2014, our miracle was born.
When our son was born, I realized that I needed something more. I wanted to give our son a life that was more than what we had, and I didn't want to miss out on him growing up. With a newborn, I didn't have time to keep making crafts to sell, so I began trying all different types of side hustles.
I tried EVERYTHING. Etsy. Print on Demand. Dropshipping. Network Marketing. Affiliate Marketing. I had some success with those, but nothing that really made a massive impact. I was still having to work my 9-5, which meant I was still missing out on time with my husband and son.
Fast forward to November 2019, I wrote my first ebook. It was short. Not pretty, but it sold. It sold enough copies that I realized there might be something to creating digital products, but I struggled learning the ropes. I was NOT a techy at ALL. I spent hours watching Youtube, and thousands buying courses. Still, I kept going. Learning and failing, and learning some more.
By 2021, I had created my first course about online sales. Helping people to close sales with conversations in DM's. After all, my day job was in financial sales, so this seemed natural to me. I made some sales with the course. Things were going well, but still not enough to leave my 9-5.
In April of 2022, I had a massive shift. I realized that my son was now 8 years old, I was missing things that I swore I never would, and I was BURNT OUT in my job. I resented going there every day. I knew that I needed a big change. I was tired of playing small and I knew to really get the life that I wanted for us, I had to go ALL IN. I started by working 1:1 for a few clients building their courses, and writing some ebooks. That helped me get better at creating digital products.
In June of 2022, I had enough. I put in my resignation at my 9-5 and left the same day. I went home and I got to work. I knew that digital products were my avenue to making an online income, and I knew that I wanted to help others who were just like me to live the life they wanted too.
As of August of 2023, I have made over 350k selling digital products, services and online courses. It still blows my mind to type that since I was only bringing home about $5,800 a month from my 9-5 just one year ago!
One thing that I realized through this last year, was that so many people WANTED to create their own digital products, but they just didn't have the time.
